Dr. Deepak Khurana - Owner of BAH

Dr. Khurana completed his Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and surgery in 1998 at Punjab Agricultural University, India.  Dr. Khurana went on to complete his Master’s degree in Veterinary Anatomy and Histology in 2000 from the same university before he came to the United States to pursue his passion for treating pets.

He further earned a foreign graduate degree from Oklahoma State University in veterinary medicine in November of 2004. He has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in California since January of 2005.

In June of 2009, Dr. Khurana took ownership of Bristol Animal Hospital where he is currently engaged in practicing medicine and surgery. He believes strongly in the power of preventative medicine and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Khurana married his wife in 1999, who is currently a credentialed teacher in California. His wife taught various grade levels for the last 10 years, eventually becoming an academic coach in the area of Language Arts after receiving her Master’s Degree in Education Administration at California State University, Fullerton. The father of a school-age daughter and a son who is a toddler, Dr. Khurana likes to spend his off-time with his family.

Dr. Lorraine Watson has over 30 years experience with animals. Her career began in the summer of 1975, when she was awarded a college grant to map elephant feeding patterns in Tsavo National park in Kenya. In 1977 she received her Bachelors Degree from Barnard College, Columbia University. She was trained in veterinary medicine and surgery at Cornell University, and graduated in 1981. After graduation she began an internship at the renowned 'Animal Medical Center' in New York City. Following her internship she relocated to Southern California, where she has worked with animal acting companies, as a solo practitioner, and in local veterinary practices. She now joins the staff of Bristol Animal Hospital as a part-time associate.

Dr. Watson's love for animals extends beyond medicine. She is a passionate animal artist and enjoys drawing and painting animals as a visual celebration of the contribution they make in our lives.

Margie - Hospital Manager

Margie has been in the animal healthcare field for 17 years, and found her home here at Bristol Animal Hospital in 2005. She has always had a strong compassion for animals, and has always had pets in her life, as life never seemed complete without them. She is a strong advocate for animals and believes in providing them with the best healthcare possible, which is why she trusts in the doctors an staff of Bristol Animal Hospital so strongly. She lives in Santa Paula with her husband Alex, cat Zoey, and diva dog Tug. In her spare time she loves to play tennis and be with family and friends.

Kristi - Head Receptionist

Kristi has been part of our reception staff at Bristol Animal Hospital since 2005. Kristi is indispensable as part of our team, she is very passionate about her work, and is also the Safety Coordinator. She knows almost all of our clients and their pets by name, and is always there to help with a warm, genuine smile. Kristi lives in Ventura with her husband Dennis and daughter Ali. She enjoys spending her spare time with her two horses, B and Pooh.

Sandy - Registered Veterinary Tech

Sandy is a Registered Veterinary Technician and received her degree in Veterinary Science from Pierce College. Working with her father in his veterinary hospital, as well as working with horses, has instilled within her a deep passion for the care of animals. Sandy is a native to California and lives in Moorpark. She is married with two daughters. When she is not at work she can be found serving her community as a Volunteer Mounted Patrol member in regional and state parks on her Arabian horse, Ghali.

Crystal - Veterinary Technician

Crystal is the newest employee on the Bristol Animal Hospital team, and has been with us since late 2011. Her unconditional love for animals led her to groom, train, and now care for those furry creatures. She is pursuing Certification while working here at Bristol Animal Hospital. Crystal and her partner of four years have a small family consisting of three cats, Fawzy, Aloysius, and Charlie, and a Chihuahua mix named Ducky. She enjoys art, music, and nature.

April - Veterinary Technician

April is a native to Ventura and has a background in human medicine. She found out that her passion is working with our four-legged family members in 2006. April joined our team at BAH in April of 2011, where she enjoys working with pets and assisting their owners with any questions they may have. April has four pugs at home; Lavender, Otis, The Bus, and King Kong, along with a cat named Puffy whom she enjoys spending time with. In April's spare time she enjoys swimming and singing karaoke.
