Dr. Deepak Khurana - Owner of Bristol Animal Hospital
Dr. Khurana completed his Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and surgery in 1998 at Punjab Agricultural University, India. Dr. Khurana went on to complete his Master’s degree in Veterinary Anatomy and Histology in 2000 from the same university before he came to the United States to pursue his passion for treating pets.
He further earned a foreign graduate degree from Oklahoma State University in veterinary medicine in November of 2004. He has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in California since January of 2005.
In June of 2009, Dr. Khurana took ownership of Bristol Animal Hospital where he is currently engaged in practicing medicine and surgery. He believes strongly in the power of preventative medicine and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Khurana married his wife in 1999, who is currently a credentialed teacher in California. His wife taught various grade levels for the last 10 years, eventually becoming an academic coach in the area of Language Arts after receiving her Master’s Degree in Education Administration at California State University, Fullerton. The father of a school-age daughter and a son who is a toddler, Dr. Khurana likes to spend his off-time with his family.
Dr. Eric Wright - Surgical Consultant
Part of Bristol Animal Hospital’s extended veterinary staff, consulting surgeon Dr. Eric Wright, DVM, MS graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1995. After completing his internship and residency in small animal medicine and surgery, he co-founded the California Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital, where he served as chief of surgery for five years. Today, he leads his veterinary surgical consulting group, Small Animal Surgical Associates, in providing Ventura County veterinarians with highly specialized surgical services. Dr. Wright’s expertise includes orthopedic surgeries, hip replacement, fracture repair, and perineal hernia repair. He is an expert at minimally invasive surgeries using arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy, and specializes in neurosurgery including disc herniation, spinal cancer, and spinal fracture repair.
